One of the greatest assets that was bestowed to us is the mind. It is an internal engine wherein great entrepreneurial ideas are hatched. In a time where Covid-19 is at the top of the food chain, how do we keep our mental faculties functionin’ at their optimal levels? It’s a hard question to answer let alone think of. Speakers, this month, we will look at some of the ways in which we can keep, ‘sane’. It is a very fragile subject indeed so let’s dig right in.
Be it managin’ a business, writin’ your homework/assignment or just doin’ something, one needs a ‘competent’ mind to do an excellent job. The mind needs the followin’ amongst others:
Study: I know that as entrepreneurs, we feed our souls with a lot of content but we have to make sure that it is not one that enfeebles the mind. We must study content that will reinforce our minds. Oh, I know that I’m steppin’ on enchanted territory now where subjectivity thrives. Yes, right and/or wrong is subject to choice, preference, taste and a whole lot more but there are ‘general’ guidelines.
There is a thin line between wrong and right but I will say something that is not common; whatever your mind tells you is ‘right,’ do it! I know that by now, you know what is wrong and right, right? Keep your mind free of any type of mental intoxication. Also, study in bits and pieces. Do not try to grasp every concept at once. Our concentration span cannot be more than an hour surely so we need breaks in between study sessions.
Rest: The brain, just like any other body organ tires and when it does, minimal to below par performances may be the end result. After a long day of brainstormin’, research and endless meetings, one needs to repose. One of the best repose techniques is havin’ enough sleep, 6-8 hours to be precise. Just have power naps sometimes. Without proper rest, one is bound to make mistakes at work, be prone to amnesia (induced memory loss/lapses in memory) and sleepin’ on the job owin’ to fatigue. Insomnia is real guys!
Hope this little piece will help you take care of the most fragile but important part of your body that differentiates your from someone in a mental asylum. Failure to protect it may lead to memory loss and, in extreme cases psychosis. Let’s continue the conversation on our social media platforms.
